Reptile advice? (Experienced owners only please)
Started By
So, I own a female leopard gecko named Marley. She lives in a 10 gallon tank.
Recently, my grandma got me a 40 gallon tank, so I can get another reptile.
I was looking at different reptiles...I know for sure I want another lizard of some kind.
I've decided iguanas and Chinese water dragons are too large..also no monitors or tegus of any kind.
The family member I live with made me agree to a 'no snakes or turtles' rule.

So, my question is:
what kind of lizard(s) can I keep in a 40 gallon tank for their entire lives?

The reason I added the (s) to lizard(s)
Is because I could keep more than one of the same species of lizard in a 40gallon. For instance I read up to 6 created geckos can be kept in a 40 gallon.

Thanks for any advice any of you have :)

Reptile species, tips, info, and name suggestions are greatly appreciated guys :)

Crested Geckos can be keept together, however it is not advised to do so because you have to be certain of their gender and you also need to constantly be monitering them. Also if you have no experience with them you shouldn't have more than one.

Beardies should be kept in tanks (as adults) no smaller than 40 gallons as adults, but I've heard often than 50-55 gallons are the best.

You can definitely do a 40 gal for a single crestie, but you'd have to make it vertical and I don't know how overwheling it would be for them.

But to be honest, with the whole no snakes and no turtle rules, it's sorta tricky.
